The WMDD program adapts to rapid technological changes, recognizing the significant impact of AI on web design and development. It has incorporated AI into the curriculum, enabling students to explore, apply, and integrate AI into their projects. This prepares students for the evolving landscape of the industry. Additionally, the program offers master classes and workshops that cover various aspects of artificial intelligence in the context of web technologies.
Yes, there are many classes that bring in industry guest speakers, in order to expose students to cutting edge technologies and workflows.
The program does not specifically seek out industry projects and clients, but if the opportunity arises, we provide assistance and guidance with the process involved.
Instructors and Instructional Assistants (IAs) are accessible via Langara College email and the WMDD Slack workspace. IAs provide clarification of concepts and academic support throughout your time in the program. Regularly scheduled tutorials and drop-in office hours are available for students to ask questions and clarify any material.

The labs are open on campus for students who need to use computers in college, and the course provides AWS credits for the students enrolled in that course, allowing them to develop iOS applications on their home device, through the cloud IDE platform.
This course allows the students to learn the process of video and audio production, through using the Adobe Suite, specifically, Premier Pro, and AfterEffects. The projects in this course culminate with a final app promo video, which ties into the final capstone project.
We do not transfer any previous courses in this program, as the program is a cohort system of group projects. Every student takes all the courses in their stream, and this allows students with previous experience to share their knowledge with the project group and their classmates.
There will be multiple group assignments and individual assignments throughout the courses in every term.
There is a limited number of spots to switch streams, based on availability, in term 2.
Switching streams will be granted on a merit-based system, and students in good academic standing are given priority.
You can expect a heavy workload as this is an intensive course. Students are expected to spend a minimum of 5 hours per class outside of the class hours to study and complete the assignment.
The method of delivery for WMDD classes includes a combination of in-person and online sessions. Some classes are conducted live in a classroom setting, while others may take place virtually through online platforms. Additionally, certain materials and assignments may be accessible asynchronously, allowing students to learn at their own pace.
There is a fixed timetable that will be available on the Student Information System (SIS) online platform once students register for the semester. In the event of any changes, students will be informed in advance.
